‘Futurama’ Season 14 Trailer Promises More Sci-Fi Swagger and Shenanigans

A 14th season for any other show might not seem so exciting, but Futurama—maybe the most resilient animated series ever, having weathered multiple cancellations and rebirths—is in a whole new era. While its first Hulu season back in 2023 had a little trouble finding its feet after 10 years away, the subsequent installments have gotten better and better, with last year’s season 13 among the series’ best ever.

Our only gripe with season 13 is that Hulu chose to release it as a binge season. But the streamer must have heard that from multiple places, because season 14, arriving August 3, will go back to the tried and true weekly release. At San Diego Comic-Con, Futurama‘s cast and crew took the stage to share some glimpses of what’s to come. They showed off a new trailer, which you can watch below.

Here’s the official synopsis for season 14: “Brace yourselves … The future is about to get a whole lot stranger! It’s a nonstop onslaught of swaggering space pirates, lab-grown meats, sexy scams … plus the shocking return of Dr. Zoidberg’s lost love. No one saw that coming prior to being told about it just now.”

In addition, three new “XXXL-sized” Futurama specials were announced. The first, which will air in 2027, is X-Mas themed. No details about the other two were shared.

The cast includes John DiMaggio, Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil Lamar, and David Herman.

Futurama returns August 3 to Hulu and Disney+.
