If you’ve ever wished you could access a Mac equivalent to Microsoft 365 Copilot inside Apple productivity apps, this one’s for you. Apple is adding a new AI assistant to Pages, Keynote, and Numbers (the Mac equivalents of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Called Intelligent Assistant, the feature is in beta for Apple Creator Studio subscribers in the United States and supports US English only.
The assistant can reportedly understand any document, presentation, or spreadsheet a user has open, letting users ask questions and prompt it to make changes on their behalf:
-
In Pages, Intelligent Assistant can start a draft, edit and organize writing, improve tone, and generate images or shapes.
-
In Keynote, it can create or refine slides, add animations, write presenter notes, and generate visuals.
-
In Numbers, the assistant can analyze data, build formulas, create tables, suggest charts, and help organize information.
The assistant can also search for information and add it to a file across all three apps.
Apple says the assistant uses Apple and OpenAI AI models. Using it requires an Apple Intelligence-compatible device running iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27 or later. Existing Creator Studio subscribers will receive it at no extra cost in November; otherwise, it costs $12.99 per month or $129 per year.
Basic Freeform, Pages, Keynote, and Numbers access will remain free for users who don’t want or need Intelligent Assistant.
