At a Glance’s two new features will let users to easily access the passes in their Google Wallet and get an overall idea of any restaurant.

The Google Pixel’s ‘At a Glance’ is a content-heavy smart widget that displays timely information like weather, traffic, or calendar events. Just in the last month, within its update, Google brought “My Commute, Sports scores, and Finance watchlist” and is now about to bring two new features to the Google Pixel’s At a Glance widget: “Passes Nearby” and “Restaurant Insight”.

Android Authority’s Android enthusiast, AssembleDebug, recently found that Google, in its Android System Intelligence (B.23) and Settings Services (1.1.0.885985347), is working on the above upcoming features in order to access the passes on the go and get the insights of the restaurant.

The Passes Nearby feature will allow the user to access the Pass stored in the Google wallet when reached at the specified location, for instance, the feature would allow you to access the event tickets while at the Entry rapidly. But it is still unclear whether the user needs to toggle on the “Get notification for this event ticket” option for each pass in Google Wallet to access it. However, Google Wallet already has the feature where it notifies you when you happen to be near the location.

On the other hand, the Restaurant Insights will show “Suggested Menu items and insights based on the location.” Again, this feature will be location-specific, and it is assumed that Google will leverage the reviews on Google Maps to form the root of this feature.

At a glance Feature

It is important to note that the folks at Android Authority have only managed to toggle this option. But have not yet gotten their hands on it to actually get a glimpse of the working of this feature, as these features are still in the development phase. It is still very unclear when the Pixel users will get to use these features, or if the development team decides to omit them altogether.
